about brisvia

what it is

eCash (ECX) is a Bitcoin hardfork by LayerTwo Labs that activates drivechains (BIP300/301). Proof of work is SHA-256d. Do not confuse it with eCash XEC, which is a different project. NurseryPool is an independent third-party pool for it.

how to create a wallet

in the installer menu the same script as above:

Option 2 fetches the official eCash node, then option 3 creates the wallet and hands you your address. There is nothing else to install.

no synchronisation needed a few seconds:

The node is started with the network switched off, just long enough to create the wallet and hand you an address. Not a single block is downloaded.

back up the folder the only backup:
~/.ecash-wallet/wallets/ecx/

There is no 12-word phrase: eCash uses a descriptor wallet, so this folder IS your key. Copy it off this machine. Lose it and your coins are gone, and nobody can recover them for you.

your address where the pool pays you:

It starts with bc1 — exactly like a Bitcoin address, because eCash keeps the same format. Never give an exchange deposit address: it would be a Bitcoin address, and your ECX would be lost.

To read your balance or spend your coins later, that same node has to be fully synchronised. Creating the wallet before you start mining matters: it will then see every payment as it arrives.

how to mine ecash here

one-command install Linux only:
curl -fsSL https://ecx.nurserypool.com/dl/install-ecx-miner.sh | sh
  • checks the build dependencies and installs them with your confirmation, and fetches the official eCash node if you need a wallet
  • creates your wallet with no synchronisation at all, or takes the address you already have
  • compiles the miner for your own CPU, then starts it, stops it, shows its logs, your balance, and sends your coins

A menu, not a black box: each step is a separate choice you make. Compiling takes 10 to 20 minutes and produces a binary tuned for your own processor, which no generic download can match. Checking your balance or spending your coins requires the node to be fully synchronised; the script says so and refuses to send before that.

Mining from several machines? Give each one a different name, otherwise you cannot tell them apart in your own statistics.

Everything lands in ./ecx-miner. Uninstall with rm -rf ecx-miner — no service, no autostart, a reboot has nothing to undo.

already running cpuminer-opt command line, for a rig already set up:
cpuminer -a sha256d -o stratum+tcp://ecx.nurserypool.com:8855 -u YOUR_BC1_ADDRESS.rig1 -p x
get the miner official sources only:

github.com/JayDDee/cpuminer-opt — no Linux binary is published there, which is why the installer compiles it for your own CPU.

connection address one port, plain TCP:
ecx.nurserypool.com:8855

cpuminer-opt, algorithm sha256d. Your username is your ECX address, optionally followed by a dot and a machine name.

No registration, no account. One port, plain TCP.
